Day 01 : Chennai
On your arrival at Chennai airport, you’ll be received and extended all assistance. Take the transport to the hotel. This capital city has the second biggest beach. The major tourist attractions are Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Kapaleeswara Temple, Valluvar Kottam, Fort Museum, Fort St. George and Birla Planetarium. Unwind in the hotel in the evening or go on a shopping spree
Day 02: Chennai to Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram
Your true South India Temple Tour gets started right away. Have breakfast and head towards Kanchipuram. On your way will find “Kanchipuram”, famous as the (golden) city of temples. True to its stature, the city hosts several grand temples and has rich architectural heritage. Vaikunta Perumal Temple, Ekambareshwar Temple, Devarajaswami Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple and Kailashnath Temple are must visits. Set out for Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram. Day 03: Mahabalipuram
Post breakfast set out for an enlightening full day tour of the Holy Mahabalipuram. The tour covers the Shore Temple on the shore of the Bay of Bengal. “Arjuna’s Penance” is one of the biggest bas-reliefs of stone of the world. The huge Five Rathas have been carved out of just one rock! Set out for Pondicherry right after the trip. Check in at the fabulous resort, enjoy your food and get a good night’s sleep.
Day 04: Pondicherry
Post breakfast set out to discover this well known Indian land with its glorious French legacy. Sri Aurobindo Ashrama is its prime attraction. The great Indian thinker, poet and prophet of the twentieth century Sri Aurobindo had set up the ashrama for spiritual practice. The 16th century Greek and Roman Aayi Mandapam is another must see. Pay your homage to the brave hearts of World War I at the famous French war memorial. Visit the statue of Dupleix, Pondicherry museum, library, Botanical garden, French Institute on Indology, the 19th century light house, serenity beach, Church of Our Lady of Immaculate. Visit Matri mandir and spend some time in exploring Auroville. Feel refreshed by the fresh air at Auro beach. Night stay provided at the Hotel.
Day 05: Pondicherry – Trichy
Have breakfast at the hotel and set out for Trichy. It is located on the banks of Cauvery River. Tiruchirappalli originally belonged to the Chola Kings but later on was captured by the Pallavas. Trichy is proud of its large number of monuments and the temples. It is not just the fourth biggest city of the state but also a primary tourist centre. Ranganathaswamy Temple, St. John’s Church, Jambukeswara Temple, Vayalur, Rock Fort, Thiruvellaraj and Thiru Erumbur are the major tourist spots. Enjoy the evening, take rest at the resort.
Day 06: Trichy – Thanjavur
Today after breakfast leave for Thanjavur, yet another important destination in the South India Temple Tour. The district is known as the Rice Bowl of the state of Tamil Nadu. Big Temple as well as the other temples is well known in the whole world for architectural excellence. “Thanjavur” is considered the place of birth of the brilliant Carnatic music, dance, musical instruments and ethnic handicrafts. Thanjavur palace, Brihadeeswara Fort and Temple, Sangeet Mahal, Raja Raja Chola Art Gallery and Saraswati Mahal Library are the major attractions. Spend the evening and the night at the hotel.
Day 07: Thanjavur – Madurai
After breakfast in the morning check out and be prepared for an exciting journey to Madurai. Madurai, one of the ancient cities of India has a rich tradition of cultural and commercial activities since 550 AD. It is located on the side of Vaigai river; and the legend has it that Lord Shiva had been here and he dropped sweet nectar from his holy hair. Hence, the name is Madurai meaning “sweetness”. Sri Meenakshi Sundareswar Temple is the most famous temple of the place. It is well known for its stunning architecture. Other shrines of tourist attractions are the Mariamman Teppakulam Tank, Tirumalai Nayak Mahal and museums. Overnight stay provided at the restaurant.
Day 08: Madurai
Have breakfast in the morning at the hotel; head towards Rameswaram, the little island located on the Palk Strait. For its holy ambience it is referred to as the Benaras of the south. In the Ramayan, Rameshwaram is referred to as the place from which Lord Rama constructed the bridge over the sea to free his wife Sita, from the evil Ravana. Visit Ramanathaswamy temple, Dhanushkodi Coral Reefs, Kothandarswamy Temple, Thiruppullani and Ramanathapuram. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 09: Madurai – Kanyakumari
Post breakfast set out for the stunning Kanyakumari. Check in at the hotel in Kanyakumari. Go for a whole day tour of the place. Kumari or the virgin is worshiped here. Kanyakumari is on Cape Comorin. Devi Kanya is believed to be the incarnation of Devi Parvathi. It is a significant Hindu pilgrimage. The other attractions are Kumari Amman Temple, Gandhi (Memorial) Mandapam, Cape Comorin, Government Museum, Waterfall named Olakkay Aruvi, Kumarak Koil and Gulf of Mannar National Park.

Day 10: Kanyakumari – Kovlam
